The annual "Turn Off the Violence Day" has turned into the Rotary Family Fun Day, and is scheduled in September each year. It is held at the Sheridan Open Air Pavilion in Heritage Park, 12111 Pardee.
The event is always free and includes a picnic lunch and activities like a performance by the West Middle School Band, face painting, bouncy houses, demonstrations by the Taylor Police and Taylor Fire departments -- and lots of physical activities like Zumba, soccer, hula hoops, guessing games and more. Prizes are involved for children who get their healthy "activities passport" stamped.
