Taylor Hills Compost Facility
16300 Racho Road
Taylor, MI 48180
Monday - Saturday
8:00 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
The Taylor Hills Compost Facility provides a high-quality soil amendment product for landscapers and gardeners.
A quality product is available at competitive pricing and is free for residents of Taylor. This is an excellent opportunity to help the environment by taking yard waste that was typically land filled and converting it into a useful, viable product. The facility is located between Pennsylvania and Eureka roads, east of Telegraph Road.
The City Council has approved that each residence (homes with curbside rubbish pickup or taxpaying resident) in the City of Taylor is entitled to 2 free dumps (up to 500 pounds per dump) yearly at the Taylor Hills Transfer Station/Compost Site.
To take advantage of this free dumping, residents must show proof of residency to the gate attendant upon arrival at the Transfer Station. Residents are no longer required to obtain a physical pass as they are now processed electronically. To show proof of residency a photo ID or tax bill/deed with proof of identification is acceptable.
Residents are asked to use compost bags (brown paper bags) along with compost cans for compost only (i.e. grass clippings, leaves). No bags or cans will be accepted with rubbish or debris mixed with compost. This process will insure the quality of finished compost available to Taylor residents.
